Cat Blues: The Big Gig - $19
Let the serenade begin
Cat Blues: The Big Gig is an evolved edition of Reiner Knizia’s classic card game Cat Blues, also known as Katzenjammer Blues. It is the second title in Bitewing Games’ Crown Jewel Selection line (the first being Zoo Vadis). The additions and changes to the original game (all designed, developed, tested, and approved by Reiner Knizia) provide:
- Better first impressions for newcomers
- Spicier game arcs
- More possible strategies
- More gameplay variety

Why You'll Love It
Tight Auctions and Spicy Decisions
Few card games are as clean, agonizing, and satisfying as Cat Blues: The Big Gig. That is because each round you’ll have to decide how much the group of turned up cards is worth to you, bidding with your own hand of cards to try and win the group and assemble a better hand. You’ll also find yourself ever tempted to use Jokers in your bids and quartets, but you don’t want to spend the most Jokers, or you’ll lose 5 points! Or maybe you'll throw caution to the wind and attempt to dominate with a Joker-heavy strategy.
While many folks already love the original Cat Blues, we wanted to enhance this game so that it consistently gives a strong first impression at the table. That’s why we worked with Reiner Knizia to correct the player count, improve the hand management flexibility, and introduce exciting new features, including the Quartet Tokens and Serenading Sevens expansion.
